Rethinking sustainable mobility: how drivemycar gives cities a breath of fresh air
drivemycar aims to create sustainable, uncomplicated and networked mobility. The concept, which is initially geared towards Switzerland, should also be able to be implemented globally in the long term.
The focus is on solving the acute shortage of space in urban areas. Originally, the platform was primarily aimed at the urban population, who were to benefit from the efficient use of resources through a peer-to-peer (P2P) or sharing economy solution. By way of explanation: in the P2P exchange of services, private individuals share resources such as goods directly with each other, usually via digital platforms. Instead of merely shifting the lack of space through measures such as the removal of parking spaces, drivemycar relies on voluntary cooperation and personal responsibility. This approach not only promotes acceptance, but also actively contributes to relieving congestion in urban areas.
Originally developed for the urban context, drivemycar is increasingly aimed at organizations such as housing estates, cooperatives, industrial parks and municipalities. These benefit in particular from fast and fully automated solutions that also benefit larger or closed user groups. Every organization has individual usage requirements that drivemycar can meet in a tailor-made manner.
An innovative response to urban mobility pressures
The idea for drivemycar arose from a well-known gap in the market: At the time it was founded, there was no platform that offered car sharing to vehicle owners or small groups of people who wanted to share a vehicle. However, the founders had already gained experience in their professional careers with platforms such as Sharoo (discontinued) and realized that there was still a need for such a solution. The increase in city traffic, for example in the last Population survey of the city of Zurich 2023 was perceived as the biggest problem, could certainly be alleviated in the long term by an efficient car sharing platform. Furthermore, there is also a concrete demand from companies for an efficient internal car sharing system.
To date, there is no directly comparable platform in Switzerland. drivemycar offers organizations a unique mobility solution at an attractive price-performance ratio. Nevertheless, the launch was not without its challenges:
- Technical hurdles: Integrating and scaling the vehicles required extensive technical expertise in order to cover older vehicles as well.
- Political hurdles: Compared to other European countries and cities, solutions such as drivemycar receive little support in Switzerland.
- Market pressure: Competition with established providers forced drivemycar to clearly communicate its unique selling points, often referred to as USP, to sharpen the brand and find a clear positioning.
”We are experts in the mobility sector and place high demands on our platform. Panter has made it possible for us to solve complex challenges comprehensively with a great deal of know-how and creativity.

Functionality meets user-friendliness: an app that inspires
Panter carried out the entire new development from the “green field” and made a significant contribution to its success. Particularly noteworthy is the careful planning, in which the project team repeatedly introduced well thought-out and innovative solutions to ensure the best possible implementation.
At the heart of the solution is a native app which, despite its technical complexity, impresses with its seamless, intuitive and user-friendly operation and range of functions. Additional security is provided by integrated personal verification. Particularly noteworthy is the successful development of a Bluetooth module, which many platforms have previously failed to achieve. The solution is rounded off by a practical booking tool. Other special features of the solution include
- Server location in Switzerland with high data security that offers reliable protection against cyber attacks.
- Seamless networking with the vehicles
Popular and successful: drivemycar continues its successful course
Since its launch, drivemycar has enjoyed impressive success: the target for 2024 has been achieved and the number of users has risen to over 500. According to a Statista survey, the brand is in a strong second place in terms of awareness and popularity – just behind Mobility. The project was also nominated for the prestigious Green Business Award nominated. National and international media such as Inverse, Zag Daily and Mobilitree reported on the innovative solution and attracted additional attention. The feedback from users and stakeholders has been positive. The ease of use and versatility of the solution are particularly appreciated. Customers emphasize that drivemycar is always open to new development ideas. This flexibility distinguishes the platform from rigid one-size-fits-all solutions.
drivemycar has ambitious plans for the future in order to make a lasting impact on the mobility industry. One focus is on expanding into European markets to increase the reach and influence of the solution. At the same time, it is driven by the vision of fundamentally revolutionizing mobility transportation. New functions such as an online car service that offers users comprehensive support or the integration of interfaces to company administrations are being discussed in order to integrate drivemycar even more seamlessly into operational processes.
