Panter is co-initiator of the Swiss {ai} Weeks
Every decade has its theme that heralds not just hype, but fundamental change. Artificial intelligence is not only changing how we work, it is changing what we work on. It is changing our expectations of software, decision-making processes and products. In short, AI is changing (almost) everything in our working world.
What does this mean for us as panthers?
We are not just observing this change, we are actively helping to shape it. We are at the center of AI development in Switzerland. As a Swiss technology agency for software and AI engineering, we develop solutions that create real added value. But in the age of AI, technological excellence alone is no longer enough. It is about making concrete applications usable in the business and organizational environment. As AI early adopters, we also have to take responsibility, build trust and offer guidance. This is because the current market is confusing and characterized by rapid developments that are sometimes almost impossible to use for SMEs, large companies and public administrations in this country. This is where technology agencies like Panter also have a duty.
The change: from code to competence
Traditionally, software development was primarily a manual process: requirements, code, tests, deploy. Today, AI is fundamentally changing this dynamic. With generative AI, entire blocks of code are created automatically. Decision support, analysis and even entire design drafts can be generated in seconds, and prototypes are available in just a few hours. But getting these ready for the market, integrated into the existing IT architecture of companies and administrations, flawless in terms of data protection and of good quality – this still requires a great deal of understanding of the technology and knowledge of how to use AI correctly. This is where the role of software development and the core task of agencies like Panter is changing: away from pure programming and towards bridging the gap between technology and business logic. Panter’s basic attitude is to actively live these new roles: with curiosity, attitude and competence, and has been doing so since 2005.
Our approach to AI: Safe. Sensible. Swiss.
We don’t use AI because everyone is talking about it, but because it can already solve many problems better or faster than before – or even both. Our solutions are not only technically robust, but also designed for data protection, security and transparency. We are not blindly relying on the big models from the USA, but are increasingly focusing on European and Swiss models, whose regulation is closer to us. For example, we are one of the first agencies to use the new models of the Swiss AI Initiative, developed by the AI centers at ETH and EPFL, and implement them in solutions for clients. In doing so, we are supporting the development of AI within the regulatory, economic and cultural framework in Switzerland. And we have been involved as co-initiators of the Swiss {ai} Weeks since the beginning.
Learning as an attitude
Technological change is rapid, but our response is not speed at any price, but the ability to learn. At Panter, we consciously invest in internal formats to keep our team up to date: From “demo” sessions to interdisciplinary labs where new tools are tried out, reflected on and evaluated. At the same time, we advise our customers on how they can position themselves sensibly in this new world.
Our basic attitude – also relevant tomorrow
The question is not whether AI will change our world, but how we use it. Our answer is: with attitude. With sense. With Swiss quality.
Our basic attitude is to embrace new technologies at an early stage, but never without reflection. To live innovation with a clear goal and concrete benefits. And to shape change, not fear it. The Swiss {ai} Weeks and Panter are jointly pursuing this path of AI made in Switzerland.
